Where Can You Donate And Help India Fight The Second Wave

It is heart-breaking to see India fight a desperate battle against coronavirus. Gripped in the claws of a deadly second wave, there seems to be no respite in sight. The situation is equally tough for Indians living abroad. There is a feeling of helplessness as they cannot be physically present to look after their loved ones. While there is no solution to that, everyone can do their bit by donating what they can.

As the other countries rally around to give their support to India by sending medical supplies, you can donate too. Here are the organisations that are working relentlessly to provide relief to covid-stricken India.

Hemkunt Foundation

Since the beginning of this pandemic, Hemkunt Foundation has been working to offer relief to Indians. Last year, the organisation distributed almost 360 tonnes of meals to migrant workers and labourers who were struck by a sudden lockdown. In the second wave, they have been at the forefront for procuring and distributing oxygen cylinders to those in need.  You can click here to donate to Hemkunt Foundation.

Uday Foundation

This foundation based in Delhi has been working round the clock to provide food, wellness kits, and oxygen concentrators to the marginalised communities. They feed hundreds and thousands of hungry stomachs who wait outside government hospitals as their loved ones get their treatments. They generally come from rural parts and do not have the means to arrange for food. You can donate to Uday Foundation here.

Khalsa Aid

Khalsa Aid is an international humanitarian relief organisation that has been working to provide free oxygen concentrators in the Delhi-NCR region. They aim to provide 5000 concentrators in the Delhi region. They have been working hard to procure them from their network in London, the US and Canada. Their wing in Australia is also working hard to organise this medical equipment, and you can donate by clicking here.

Make A Difference

The current covid situation is impacting children and youth in large numbers. Make A Difference is a foundation that works for the benefit of these youngsters by providing them with a nurturing environment in shelter homes. Given the current situation, the load on shelter homes is going to increase, and they need funds more than ever. If there is a cause that resonates with your heart, you can click here to donate.

Akshaya Patra Foundation

Akshaya Patra is a non-profit organisation that has been working to provide mid-day meals to children belonging to poor families. Since the pandemic started, they have been working to provide relief services in the form of packed meals and grocery kits to the low-income segments of society. They are active in multiple states, and their website shows the number of kits they have delivered since the pandemic hit India. You can click here to make a donation to Akshaya Patra Foundation.

It is a time where every rupee and every helping hand matter. Donate to these organisations or any NGO of your choice to help bring India out of this desperate situation.
